Pacific Youth Choir was invited to sing at the Heritage Gold Festival in Chicago, April 2-4, 2005. Three choirs attended: Pacific, Tsunami, and high school members of Coro Pacifica. All three choirs scored superior! "Outstanding choir, beautiful tone quality, great diction, SUPERB TRAINING. Very Impressive and artistic performance." These were the high words of praise from adjudicator Gene Brooks, who is the National Director of American Choral Directors Association. When acknowledging Mia, Dr. Brooks proclaimed, "Very Talented Director!! Good conducting technique, great work between singers and conductor.” Both Dr. Anton Armstrong and Sigrid Johnson of St. Olaf College were very enthusiastic in their praise of PYC, with Ms. Johnson saying how EVERYTHING is here, the performance level, the artistry, the voices. Weston Noble, internationally known conductor and conductor of the Nordic Choir of Luther College, commented on the great musicianship of PYC. He used our singers as a model to the entire festival when demonstrating how to sing, commenting that he wished there were more choirs like Pacific Youth Choir. "Imagine" was the theme for PICCFEST 2004, and Pacific Youth Choir was the host choir. Coro Pacifica was the featured choir at PICCFEST, Pacific International Children’s Choir Festival. As featured choir, Coro Pacifica sang a solo concert to open the 35th season of the renowned Bach Festival 2004 in Eugene, Oregon.
