Choirs
Pacific Youth Choir is designed as a complete graduated choral program. It features five choirs and serves singers in grades 1st through college.

As Pacific Youth Choir students mature in their choral skills they are given developmentally appropriate musical and choral challenges. Through a broad range of choral literature they learn to sing with solid musicianship, tone, and a love for the artistry of great choral singing.

CHAMBER CHOIR
Conductor: Mia Hall Savage
This choir works at an intense musical level with very dedicated and talented singers. Choir members are highly auditioned and must commit to extra rehearsals and performances

CORO PACIFICA
Conductor Mia Hall Savage
Over 50 high school singers make up this talented treble choir. A great honor in our first season was being invited to be the featured choir of the Pacific International Children’s Choir Festival (PICCFEST). This highly skilled treble choir will be participating in festivals and tours at regional, national and international levels.

Singers must be able to hold their own part in 3-part treble harmony. Good reading, vocal technique, and prior choral experience are desirable skills for entrance into this group.

CASCADIA
Conductor: Mia Hall Savage

Our middle school singers learn vocal technique, sight reading, and strong part singing. Singers must be in at least 6th grade to audition for this choir. As singers mature in their singing abilities, they may audition for Coro Pacifica.

Prior singing with sight reading ability is desirable. However, Cascadia also accepts talented singers with no prior choral experience.

PACIFIC CHOIR
Conductor Mia Hall Savage
Our 90-voice high school choir sings a wide range of choral music. This group is highly motivated and talented. Singers who graduate from high school and stay in the area complete this group to provide a challenging and exceptionally high quality SATB (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) choir. We sing 4 to 8 part choral literature. This choir is gaining recognition locally and regionally, with invitations to the Heritage Gold Festival, and recent inquiries about professional engagements.

Prior singing experience is a must for Pacific Choir applicants. Applicants will demonstrate good reading skills and good vocal technique.

TSUNAMI
Conductors: Cole Blume and Scott Tuomi

This a cappella men’s choir is for high school men with changed voices; tenors, baritones and basses. Tsunami produces great choral tone and has already received recognition in local performances and on television. These men have great fun while singing beautiful choral music. The men in Tsunami are also members of Pacific Choir.

CORO NOVA
Conductor: Donna Kagan

This choir serves the needs of younger singers in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade and is comprised of two choirs: Nova 1 & Nova 2. By providing the foundation of music reading, good tone production, and choir experience these young singers gain the knowledge and confidence to succeed in PYC choirs as well as in their own musical adventure. Quality choral singing in a fun-filled learning environment ensures that each young musician grows in her or his abilities.

A good ear for music, in-tune singing and rhythm are necessary for acceptance into Coro Nova.
