McKenna Nowak
Rehearsal & Event Support Specialist
McKenna Nowak is a passionate music educator dedicated to inspiring young singers to realize their potential as musicians and individuals. Currently the choir teacher at Sellwood Middle School, McKenna has revitalized the school's choral program, fostering students' vocal skills, confidence, and love of music through engaging, collaborative learning. She also teaches individual and group voice lessons at Oregon Music Academy, working with students from age four through adulthood to develop proper singing technique and performance skills.
McKenna holds a BS in Elementary Education from the University of Idaho and is completing her added endorsement in Music Education at Portland State University. With endorsements in Music PreK-12, Elementary Multiple Subjects, and Foundational Mathematics, she brings a well-rounded approach to teaching that nurtures the whole child. At PYC, McKenna manages Sunday rehearsals, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and organized environment where every singer can thrive. Her joyful presence and commitment to creating inclusive musical communities make her an invaluable addition to the PYC family.
