Nova 1: Kindergarten-2nd Grade

Nova 1 introduces choral singing and vocal technique.  Members explore musical expression through singing, moving, creating, and playing together and as individuals.  They also develop musical skills, including singing in tune, singing in time, and singing with an ensemble.  Although Nova 1 singers prepare concert literature, the goal of rehearsal time is to develop independent, joyful musicianship through singing.

Nova 2: 3rd-4th Grade

Nova 2 allows older elementary students to develop their singing voices and their overall musicianship through choral artistry. Members explore literature from a diverse range of cultures and experience many different styles of part-singing.  They learn elements of healthy tone production, music theory, and score reading.  Nova 2 rehearsals also include age-appropriate games, vocal warm-ups, and expressive movement activities.
