The Tempo · Monthly Giving
Set the tempo for a singer's whole year
The Tempo is Pacific Youth Choir's monthly giving program. A recurring gift is the steadiest support we receive — and the kind that lets us plan a season with confidence.
Steady support buys us the ability to plan
Most charitable giving arrives in two bursts a year. Monthly gifts arrive every month, including the quiet ones.
That difference is what lets us commit to conductors in the spring, order repertoire over the summer, and tell a family in September that yes, tuition assistance is available — all before a single year-end appeal goes out.
Members of The Tempo carry that steadiness. It is the most useful commitment a supporter can make, and it takes about two minutes to set up.
Where your monthly gift goes
Monthly gifts go to the same places every month, in every season: need-based tuition assistance, sheet music and repertoire, rehearsal and performance space, and the conductors who lead each ensemble.
Together, members of The Tempo help close the gap between what families pay and what a season actually costs — which is how more than half our singers are able to be here at all.
Choose any amount that works for you. You can change it, pause it, or stop it yourself at any time in the donor portal.
The choir your gift keeps in rehearsal
PYC is a regional program, not a neighborhood one. Singers arrive from all over the Portland metro area, and cost is not what decides who gets in.
Singers this season
Kindergarten through twelfth grade, coming from 114 schools across 48 zip codes.
Receive tuition assistance
Aid is need-based and confidential. No singer has ever been turned away from PYC because a family couldn't pay.
In aid awarded each year
Funded almost entirely by contributed revenue — gifts like yours, not tuition.

Questions about monthly giving
Whatever is comfortable and sustainable for you. What makes monthly giving valuable to us is the consistency, not the size — a gift we can count on twelve times a year is worth more in planning terms than a larger one we can't predict.
Your first gift processes immediately, and every gift after that recurs on the same day each month. You'll get an emailed receipt each time.
Yes. Pacific Youth Choir is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, EIN 20-0213467. No goods or services are provided in exchange for your gift, so it is fully deductible to the extent allowed by law. Keep your emailed receipts for your records.
Workplace giving. Ask your HR department what options they offer. If PYC isn't listed in your local United Way campaign, write in Pacific Youth Choir along with our address: 1000 SW Broadway, Suite 940, Portland, OR 97205.
Matching gifts. Many employers match employee contributions. Request a matching gift form from your employer, then send the completed form with a copy of your receipt to the address above.
Either way, please email info@pacificyouthchoir.org once it's set up so we can credit the gift to you correctly.
Visit the Donor Portal, where you can change your gift amount, update your card, and edit your contact details yourself at any time.
You can stop or pause at any time, with no explanation needed. If you set your gift up online, do it in the Donor Portal. If you gave by mail or phone, email info@pacificyouthchoir.org with your name and we'll take care of it.
