Join Pacific Youth Choir
PYC welcomes all students who love to sing and have an interest in developing their voice and choral artistry. We have a choir for every student: those who are just beginning to sing and those who wish to continue their vocal studies. PYC accepts students from Kindergarten- 12th grade.
Auditions
All singers, regardless of age or previous experience, are asked to audition. Auditions are scheduled on an individual basis throughout the season.
Middle school and high school singers are asked to prepare a song that showcases their range and ability and can be sung without piano accompaniment.
K-5th grade singers are asked to prepare a short song for their audition. “Twinkle Twinkle” and “Happy Birthday” are two popular examples. The director will also have them sing various vocal exercises to get a better idea of their ability.
Rehearsal Schedule
Rehearsals are held Sunday evenings at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 147 NW 19th Avenue, corner of NW Everett St. in Portland.
Nova 1: 1:00-1:50 PM
Nova II : 2:00-2:50 PM
Rogue: 2:15-2:55 PM
Cascadia: 2:55-3:55 PM
Rapids: 3:55 - 4:35 PM
Pacifica: 4:00-5:15 PM
Pacific: 5:25-6:30 PM
Tsunami: 6:30-7:45 PM
Chamber: 7:45-8:30 PM
Choir starts the weekend after Labor Day and runs through the end of May.

Annual Singer Registration Fee: $125

Nova 1, Nova 2: $701
Self-selected 20% scholarships are available. If additional assistance is needed, please fill out a scholarship form.
Annual Pacific Youth Choir Retreat
Pacific, Tsunami, and Coro Pacifica: $165
Cascadia (middle school choir): $125
Tuition subsidizes PYC administration and operations. All tuition payments are due by the start of the season. PYC offers limited scholarships so that all interested and qualified singers are able to join the choir.
